This is me at a cultural festival in Crewe (Sunday 12th July). I ran a calligraphy and origami workshop. It was so rewarding to see so many people interested in Japanese culture. Everyone who took part in the workshop did a fantastic job and it was a real pleasure to help people to learn how to create origami and to write in Japanese.
I was wearing a yukata, a Japanese garment. It is a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric, and unlined. Like other forms of traditional Japanese clothing, yukatas are made with straight seams and wide sleeves.
I can’t wait until my next workshop!
